Level one

If you simply want to do something RIGHT NOW then here’s some suggestions for things you can do immediately or with just a few clicks on the internet. This isn’t a comprehensive list! This is just to get you started. But by starting (and learning), you’ll find what you like doing and what you’re passionate about.

Talk about it

“One of the biggest problems when it comes to action on climate change is simply that we don’t talk about it enough. This makes it harder to know what the problems and solutions really are, and keeps the pressure off people who could help change things – whether that’s politicians, businesses, or your Uncle Dave. Talk more about the topic, and it’ll be more normal. The media isn’t doing the job for us –  recent research showed that climate change appears in non-news TV as much as rhubarb (and 20 times less than Brexit) – you can change this, simply by raising the topic.” Dr Alice Bell

STRIKE!

The #SchoolStrike4Climate has been one of the most successful actions in the fight against climate change and it’s easy for anyone to get involved.  Join in with Fridays For Future – a youth-led and organised global climate strike movement with more than 14 million young people in 7500 cities across the world taking part so far! It’s a great way to show people in power how important an issue this is to you, find out more about the issues (there’s always great speakers) and meet other people fighting against climate breakdown.

Walk/cycle/skate/scoot – Don’t Drive!

For short journeys, ditch the car and get some exercise! Can you walk or ride to school or work instead of drive? Or get the bus or a train for trips out? Every little helps and not only is it better for the climate, you’ll get fitter too!
